May 3, 2002 Lawyering: one big productionKara Hadigan, A' 01, a Loyola drama alumna and current first-year law student, combined her two greatest loves in an original stage production that received great local acclaim. "Shakespeare on Trial," which Hadigan modeled after mock trails, is an interactive play centering on the murder in Shakespeare's MacBeth. Loyola law students argued the facts of the character's alleged murder and local federal district court judges presided over the trial. The show's ending became even more unpredictable with each night's audience serving as the jury. Actors performed the play every Wednesday in April at Le Chat Noir. Local critics David Lee Simmons and Dalt Wonk from Gambit Weekly and David Cuthbert from The Times-Picayune gave the production rave reviews. |
