School of Law gives students Best Bang for the Buck

The School of Law is a Very Good Value, according to the National Jurist magazine, a nationally distributed magazine for law students and prospective law students.

In its March 2002 issue, the magazine considered six factors in deriving its "Best Value" honors, using the American Bar Association 2000-2001 academic statistics. On a 3.0 scale, the comparison gave a 30 percent weight to tuition and to bar pass rates, and 10 percent to unemployment rates, median grants, clinic slots, and faculty-student ratio.

Loyola placed in the Very Good Value where schools received between a 2.1 to 2.2 rating. Of the 105 private ABA accredited law schools in the country, Loyola was one of 23 such schools featured in the article.

"The School of Law continues the Jesuit tradition of academic excellence at an affordable rate," says Law Dean James Klebba. "The law school has many strengths for which we are proud, and recognition of some of those in the National Jurist is gratifying."
