Summer 2001 Extras
Business student garners research grantFernando Rivera, a freshman majoring in finance in the College of Business Adminisration, was awarded a $1,325 research grant by the Louisiana Independent College Foundation for its Louisiana Independent Colleges and Universities 2001 - 2002 Undergraduate Student/Faculty Research Program. This is the inaugural year for the program. Rivera's proposal was one of 16 selected for funding. Communications student receives scholarshipCrystal Bolner, a senior journalism major pictured with her parents at the Press Club of New Orleans awards program in May, received a $1,000 Journalism Scholarship from the professional organization. Ghost Writers won't dieRecent graduate Mike Miley's film Ghost Writers was awarded as a finalist in the Reel Frontier Competition at the Arizona International Film Festival. Miley's film was one of 11 films chosen as finalists in the Long Short Takes category. This is the third festival and first award for Ghost Writers.
