November 9, 2001 There's something to Shakespeare's Much Ado About NothingOne of Shakespeare's most popular and beloved comedies will be the second fall offering of the Loyola University Department of Drama and Speech. Much Ado About Nothing will be presented in Marquette Theater November 10-17. It will be directed by Ernest Ferlita, S.J. This play is filled with favorite comic devices of Shakespeare such as mistaken identities, the battle of the sexes, and general mischief caused by gossip. According to the director, "The twists and turns in the story make Much Ado About Nothing a delight for audiences of all ages." "Our productions of Shakespeare's works are always popular," said Georgia Gresham, chair of the Department of Drama and Speech, "New Orleans audiences are very appreciative of the beauty of the language and the fun plot situations." Much Ado About Nothing will play in Marquette Theater on November 9, 10, 16, and 17 at 8 p.m. and November 18 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $10 general admission, $7 for students and seniors.
