Crescent City Farmers market comes to campus

What could be better than our beloved C-store? Fresh, healthy food at your fingertips, of course! The Crescent City Farmers Market will host a three-week harvest festival at Loyola University New Orleans on November 8, 15, and 29.

The event comes just in time for Thanksgiving, offering the university community the market's array of fresh fruit, vegetables, seafood, and poultry. A guest chef will kick off the festival with a cooking demonstration, followed by free samples.

This is a wonderful opportunity for everyone to share in the joy of compassion and community," says ECOnomics Institute Director Richard McCarthy. Loyola faculty and staff have been very supportive of the uptown Tuesday market in the past, he says, but have found it difficult to give up their parking spaces. Now they don't have to.

The Crescent City Farmers Market is a nonprofit project of the ECOnomics Institute, housed at Loyola University's Twomey Center for Peace through Justice. The market is spearheaded by a partnership of farmers, citizens, business and governmental leaders, chefs, and nutrition advocates who seek to initiate and promote ecologically-sound economic development in the Greater New Orleans region. Bon Apetit Loyola!
