September 14, 2001 Loyola meets retention excellenceAt the 15th annual National Conference on Student Retention, sponsored by Noel-Levitz enrollment effectiveness consultants, Loyola was presented with its 2001 Retention Excellence Award. The honor, presented in July at the New Orleans Marriott, is given to recognize the most successful, state-of-the-art retention programs in use at various institutions with many different target groups of students. Thanks to Loyola's 120-member Task Force on Student Success and Retention, the university has seen a significant upward trend in its freshman-to-sophomore retention rates--from 74.2 percent in fall 1995 to a record 84.8 percent for fall 2000. Presenting the award to Interim Provost and Task Force Chair Lydia Voigt (left) are Noel-Levitz President/CEO Tom Williams and Noel-Levitz Senior Executive Randi Levitz. The effort also was recognized by the Consortium for Student Retention Data Exchange with the 2000-2001 Effective Retention Program Award. |
