Upward Bound sponsors summer food program

The Loyola University Upward Bound Program announces sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program for its participants during the 2001 Summer Residential Program, June 1­ July 11. Upward Bound operates a six-week academic, cultural, and recreational enrichment program for its 70 participants, grades 10 ­ 12, from Orleans and Jefferson (Westbank) parishes.

The Summer Food Service Program provides balanced, nutritional meals to Loyola Upward Bound participants 18 years or younger at no charge regardless of race, color, disability, sex, age, or national origin. The program also is available to Upward Bound participants over 18 years of age who have determined to be mentally or physically disabled by a state education agency or a local public educational agency of a state and are enrolled in a public or private nonprofit school program. Eligible participants will be served the same meal at no charge regardless of race, color, disability, sex, age, or national origin. If you believe you have been discriminated against, write immediately to the Secretary of Agriculture, Washington, D.C. 20250.

Meals served include: breakfast, 7:30 ­ 8:30 a.m.; lunch, 11:30 a.m. ­ 1:30 p.m.; and dinner, 5 ­ 6:30 p.m.; Monday ­ Friday; Saturday brunch, 11:30 a.m. ­ 1:30 p.m.; and dinner, 5 ­ 6:30 p.m.
