$10,000 to Music Business Program

Accepting the check is Tony Decuir, Ph.D., associate dean of the College of Music; music business students Sarah Pelch, Kyla Gibson, Peter Whipple, Ashley White, Doug Gelpi, and Monique Guette; and Scott Fredrickson, Ph.D., chair of the Music Business Program.

The Loyola University Music Business Program was awarded a $10,000 Community Opportunity Prosperity Empowerment (COPE) grant from the Jazz Casino Company (JCC) of New Orleans. JCC Holding Company owns Harrah's Casino located at the foot of Canal St. in downtown New Orleans. The grant will fund the Music Business Seminar Series which brings music business professionals from across the country to the Loyola campus on the second Monday of each month. The first seminar featured a presentation on copyright infringement by Michael Harrington, Ph.D.

Future seminars will include contract negotiation, music merchandising, record production, career management, and music publishing.
