Loyola ranks seventh in U.S. News and World Report college rankings

Loyola University ranked seventh in the cat-egory of best regional universities in the South in the 14th annual America's Best Colleges issue and guidebook published by U.S. News & World Report. Loyola maintains its seventh place ranking from last year.

For the last 10 years, Loyola has retained its position among the top 15 of 123 regional schools in the South. In commenting on this year's ranking, University President Bernard P. Knoth, S.J., says, "In the very competitive market today, we are pleased to have maintained our seventh place ranking. Our incoming class of 2004 is made up of 860 students who represent the biggest and brightest class in the history of Loyola. The rankings affirm our continuing commitment to provide our students with a superior education in the Jesuit tradition. The quality of our student body, our faculty, and our staff allows the university to continue to attract exceptionally talented students."

In addition to ranking among the top regional universities in the South, Loyola moved up a notch to rank 12th in the Southern region in the "Great Schools at Great Prices" category. "Our tuition reflects our commitment to trying to contain the high cost of higher education while providing a first-class liberal arts education," adds Knoth.
