College of Music presents Loyola at the Met

Reid Wick, Publicity Coordinator for the College of Music

The College of Music proudly announces its first benefit, Loyola at the Met, to be presented Friday, October 1, 1999, at 7 p.m. This exciting event will feature the talents of an ensemble of former College of Music students now performing with the Metropolitan Opera in New York.

The evening begins with a cocktail reception in the Dixon Court followed by the concert in Roussel Hall at 8 p.m. This performance will be an intimate and lighthearted musical presentation by sopranos Ruth Falcon and Phyllis Treigle, basso-baritones Greer Grimsley and Alfred Walker, and the well-loved tenor Anthony Laciura, singing some of their favorite arias. Loyola is extremely proud that these talented stars of the opera world have generously agreed to perform for the benefit of the College of Music which first nurtured their talents. The cost of this portion of Loyola at the Met, including cocktail reception and concert, is $50 per ticket. Call Loyola's ticket office at ext. 3492 to purchase tickets.

Following the concert, the guest artists and a special group of patrons will be indulged with a Tuscan feast, sponsored by BRAVO! Restaurants at the elegant uptown home of Alton F. Doody. Loyola College of Music students will provide a variety of entertainment for the pleasure of those attending. Valet parking will be available for patrons and a complimentary shuttle service to and from the concert to the patron party will be provided. Patron seating for the concert will be in a special preferred section. The cost of a patron ticket, which includes the cocktail reception, concert, and the lavish after-performance party, is $175 per ticket.

The College of Music invites you to be included in the select patron group. Invitations are very limited, so your prompt reply is encouraged. Major credit cards and personal checks are welcome. Donations are tax deductible to the full extent provided by law. All proceeds benefit the Loyola University College of Music Endowment.

For reservations or further information, call ext. 3039.
