September 3, 1999 Administrative Senate plans 1999 - 2000 academic yearAn advisory body to University President Bernard P. Knoth, S.J., the Administrative Senate assists in matters concerning the general welfare and working conditions of the Loyola staff. Four representatives serve from each division and are elected every two years from among full-time administrative staff who have at least one year of service to the university. Senate constitution and by lawsalong with recent agendas and meeting minutesare featured on the Administrative Senate website at www.loyno.edu/facultyandstaff/administrativesenate. Agenda items must be submitted to the chair by the first of the month for possible inclusion at that month's meeting. At its first meeting of the 1999 2000 academic year on July 13, the following officers were elected: Arthur Stern, chair and staff observer to the Board of Trustees; Charlotte Harris, vice chair; Avia Morgan, secretary; Jay Calamia, senator-at-large; and Robert Reed, senator-at-large. Proposed guest speakers for the fall 1999 semester include University President Bernard P. Knoth, S.J.; Vice President for Financial Affairs Rhonda Cartwright; Director of the Annual Fund Terry Utterback; Director of Alumni and Parent Relations Tom Weatherall; Student Government Association and other student organization representatives; and new Dean of Campus Ministry John Weling, S.J. Senators are (listed by division): Academic AffairsBill Cahill, Gail Howard, Avia Morgan, and Paula Ruiz-Saurage; Financial AffairsJay Calamia, Debbie Diliberto, Charlotte Harris, and Dave Huffman; Institutional AdvancementCatherine Comiskey, Bob Gross, Jay Sonier, and Arthur Stern; Student AffairsMichelle Andrews, Robert Reed, Karen Shields, and Germayne Turner. Many senators also serve throughout the year on various committees including the University Planning Team (UPT), University Parking Committee, University Fringe Benefits Committee, Jesuit and Catholic Identity Committee, and the Recreational Sports and Athletics Advisory Council.
