Retention is everyone’s business

Subcommittees of the University Task Force on Student Success and Retention have continued to develop action plans for recommendations from a series of meetings that have taken place monthly since October of this academic year. Faculty/staff input also has been solicited and received as a result of a town meeting March 23 and a listserv that was set up via e-mail. An additional town meeting for faculty/staff is scheduled for April 20, from 12:30 1:45 p.m. in Bobet 332. A town meeting for students was held April 15.

A full report of recommendations will be presented to the University Planning Team this semester and the process for review and implementation will be ongoing, according to Lydia Voigt, assistant provost and chair of the task force. “Every member of the Loyola community must be concerned with student success and retention for the plan to be successful,” Voigt says. She encourages everyone to become a part of the effort through participation and sharing of ideas. For more information or to submit comments and suggestions, e-mail voigt@loyno.edu.
