Library move begins soon

The library will move from the old Main Library to the new Monroe Library over the semester break. The move will begin on Thursday, December 17, which is the last day of exams. The Main Library reading rooms will remain open on that day so that students may study. The Main Library and Media Services and Government Documents in the Monroe Library will close on Friday, December 18. The Monroe Library will open on Monday, January 11, which is the first day of classes in the spring semester. Any change in this date will be posted on campus e-mail. The semester break schedule for the microcomputer labs in the Monroe Library will be announced by the Information Technology Department.

The following is a list of important dates to remember. Please note that several library services will cease operation before December 17 and will not resume until January 11.

  • Main library closes December 18.
  • Last day to check out or review books: December 17
  • No Interlibrary Loan Book Requests accepted or processed: December 4­January 11
  • No Article Delivery Requests Accepted or Processed: December 14­January 11

Although the Monroe Library will be closed for regular business from December 18 through January 10, you can contact Media Services from December 18 to December 23 and from January 4 to January 10 to handle special requests and previously scheduled events in the new classrooms.

The Music Library will maintain the following schedule during intersession:

    Thursday, Dec. 17­Friday, December 18: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Saturday, Dec. 19­Sunday, December 20: Closed
    Monday, Dec. 21­Wednesday, December 23: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Thursday, Dec. 24­Sunday, January 3: Closed
    Monday, Jan. 4­Friday, January 8: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
    Saturday , Jan. 9­Sunday, January 10: Closed
    Monday, Jan.11: 9 a.m. to 10 p.m.
