Loyola Institute for Ministry presents scholarship benefit concert

Loyola Institute for Ministry (LIM) will host a scholarship benefit concert on Sunday, November 8, 1998, at 3 p.m., in Roussel Hall. The concert, A Celebration of Irish Heritage,” features Danny O’Flaherty, acclaimed singer, musician, storyteller, and bard. O’Fla-herty is accomplished on a variety of musical instruments including the harmonica, tin whistle, flute, accordion, and six- and 12-string guitars.

A reception will follow the concert. Tickets are $10 for general admission (when purchased in advance), $7 for students, and $5 for children under the age of 12. General admission is $14 at the door.

The Loyola Institute for Ministry is celebrating its 30th year of offering graduate education in religious education and pastoral studies. Besides offering courses on the Loyola campus, the Institute offers its graduate programs in partnership with over 45 Catholic dioceses around the country and in Scotland, England, Canada, and Switzerland. The endowed scholarship fund will assist students preparing for teaching and administrative positions in religious education and in pastoral ministry in parishes and other settings. The Institute’s programs continue the Catholic Jesuit heritage of Loyola.
