AJCU receives grant for distance learning

The Association of Jesuit Colleges and Universities (AJCU) Deans of Adult and Continuing Education recently received a $58,000 planning grant funded through the U.S. Department of Commerce and NTIA. The grant will assist Jesuit colleges and universities nationwide plan their local technology development for distance learning. The focus is on workforce development and community outreach. The AJCU seeks funding to plan for telecommunications facilities that will enable the interconnection of institutions for academic program sharing.

"I'm excited about the grant because it encourages and enables the AJCU network to better utilize technology both internally and across the nation," said Marcel J. Dumestre, dean of City College.
