Administrative Senates elects new leaders

Loyola's Administrative Senate elected new officers for the executive committee during the August 12 meeting. The officers are: Robert Reed, chair; Dave Huffman, vice chair; Michele Ray, secretary; Reggie Lyons, senator-at-large; Michael Taylor, senator-at-large.

The Administrative Senate is an advisory body to the president of the university. The senate's function is to assist the university in matters that the senate deems appropriate concerning the general welfare and working conditions of the staff and in matters concerning the entire university. Four representatives serve from each division and are elected from among the full-time professional and administrative staff with at least one year of service to the university.

The senators for the 1997-98 academic year are (listed by division): Academic Affairs­Lola Bartho-lomew, Kathy Gros, Michele Ray, Sarah Smith; Financial Affairs­Jay Calamia, Charlotte Harris, Dave Huffman, Debbie LaMarca; Institutional Advancement­Tim Caboni, Bob Gross, Reggie Lyons, Arthur Stern; Student Affairs­Catherine Hunter, Robert Reed, Michael Taylor, Germayne Turner.
