Loyola On-line

When the home page first went on-line last August, the primary audience was prospective students. During the spring semester and over the summer, the site has been expanded to include useful information for current students as well as faculty and staff.

Here are just a few of the many additions and updates:

• the current master university calendar (Don't forget to check this calendar before scheduling events, and send details on events to be included in the calendar to public affairs at Box 909.)
• College of Music Montage performance season calendar, Drama and Speech season calendar, sports calendars, and the academic calendar
• "This Week at Loyola" (under News and Information," this section highlights calendar events each week)
• Campus News and Loyola Today (faculty/staff newsletters)
• The Student Handbook
• Parking regulations
• Information Technology home page
• Student Organizations Directory
• Student Government Association home page
• New Student Orientation
• More departmental home pages
• Updated alumni and capital campaign sections (Check out the photos of alumni events around the country and library construction.)

In the first year since Loyola's home page went on­line, the number of completed requests or "hits" has increased to over 110,000 per month. Statistics summary reports show that the site is attracting more people and that they are spending more time browsing the site. The domain report as well as e-mail to the webmaster also indicate that requests are coming from all over the world.

University web page policies are being reviewed by legal counsel and will be disseminated in September.
