Business professor earns lifetime achievement award in accounting

Longtime business professor Lloyd Brandt, Jr., Ph.D., was honored with the Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award for his 33 years of teaching and professional excellence.

Brandt was presented the award by the Louisiana Certified Public Accountants Society (LCPA) at its annual convention in Hawaii. The award recognizes full-time accounting educators who have an established record of scholarly research and publication in accounting, participated in professional organizations, demonstrated outstanding classroom teaching abilities, and whose professional contributions distinguished them as outstanding educators.

Brandt said he was elated to receive such an honor. "Throughout my teaching career, I have tried to identify and counsel students who need a little extra technical explanation or encouragement. The satisfaction received from working with students is, indeed, ample rewards for my efforts. Receiving the LCPA Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award is the icing on the cake," he stated.

A professor in the College of Business Administration at Loyola since 1981, Brandt also has taught at the University of New Orleans and Louisiana State University. As a winner of the society's Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award, Brandt is now a candidate for the AICPA National Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award.
