September 19, 1997 Biever Guest Lectures feature nationally acclaimed journalists
On Monday, October 6, the first speaker will be award-winning Linda Deutsch. Deutsch's experience includes covering cases involving Charles Manson, Rodney King, and the Menendez brothers. She also was nominated for the Pulitzer Prize for her coverage of California v. Simpson. Currently, Deutsch is an Associated Press special correspondent. Next in the series is award-winning journalist Fred Graham, J.D., of "Court TV" who will speak on Monday, October 27. Graham, who covered Watergate, spent 15 years as CBS's top legal correspondent. Currently, he is chief anchor and managing editor at "Court TV." The third speaker will be featured on Monday, November 24. Joseph Bosco is a freelance author who maintained a permanent seat at the Simpson trial and is now covering the case involving the murder of Bill Cosby's son. All lectures are sponsored by the Biever Guest Lecture Committee and are held at 8 p.m. in the Danna Center. A reception cosponsored by the Loyola chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists and the Press Club of New Orleans will follow each lecture.
