May 9, 1997 Opera Theatre presents Mozart's Cosi fan tutteLoyola's Opera Theater will present Mozart's Cosi fan tutte on Thursday, May 22 and Saturday, May 24 at 8 p.m. in Roussel Hall. Stage director David Morelock and music director Carol Rausch will lead the student casts through the annual opera production. This year's production will feature entirely different leading roles. "With the abundance of wonderful singers at Loyola, we created two casts to give more people an opportunity to showcase their talent," Morelock said. Cosi fan tutte is Mozart's comic masterpiece. Many musicologists now feel that it contains some of the composer's most beautiful music. It is a rollicking tale of two soldiers who believe that their fiancees are totally faithful. Then they appear as disguised Aldanian suitors. Do they have any success with the ladies? Come see this delightful light entertainment, with the master's best melodies. |
