New Orleans jazz icons come together for a monumental live jam session.

The acclaimed Loyola University New Orleans Jazz Underground series prepares to end with a bang as the series comes to a close at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 9, 2017, with the 2nd Annual New Orleans All-Star Jam.

Organized by Associate Professor of Jazz Studies and jazz saxophonist Tony Dagradi, the 2nd Annual New Orleans All-Star Jam will feature New Orleans’ jazz icons Wessell Anderson, Ashlin Parker, Delfeayo Marsalis, Tony Dagradi, Victor Atkins, Roland Guerin and Shannon Powell playing in classic jam session style. The performance, which is the fourth and final concert this year, comes from Loyola’s Montage Fine and Performing Arts series, which showcases some of the top arts events in the region, from concerts to theatre and ballet performances. Previous shows in the Jazz Underground Series, celebrated jazz icons like John Coltrane and Duke Ellington and even brought together jazz legends Ellis Marsalis and David Torkanowsky on stage for the first time.

“Last year’s All-Star Jam was such a resounding success that we invited the same lineup of New Orleans’ stars for another romp,” said renowned saxophonist and professor Tony Dagradi.
