Medley of animal-themed musical pieces concludes Loyola opera season

The Loyola University New Orleans 2015 opera season will conclude with a night of animal-themed performances.

“Loyola Opera Scenes: A Musical Menagerie” takes place Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m. in Nunemaker Auditorium, located on the third floor of Monroe Hall. Admission is free. It is part of Loyola’s Montage Fine and Performing Arts series.

This 90-minute concert, accompanied by Carol Rausch, director of the Loyola Opera Theatre, and staged by David Morelock, will offer a mix of opera, operetta and musical theater, with selections from “Turandot,” “Madama Butterfly,” “Lakmé,” “Roméo et Juliette,” “The Medium,” “Orpheus in the Underworld,” “Babes in Toyland,” “Guys & Dolls,” “Sweeney Todd,” “Into the Woods,” “West Side Story,” and “Candide.”
