Bateman team selected in top three, Ad Team takes second in regional competition

Loyola press release - April 15, 2015

The Loyola University New Orleans Bateman team, which recently organized a series of events to spotlight the link between affordable housing and social issues as part of an annual public relations competition, was among the top three finalists in the U.S. and will advance to the finals of the Public Relations Student Society of America 2015 Bateman Case Study Competition.

Loyola's Bateman team has placed in the top three of the competition in 13 of the past 14 years and has won more than any other university in the country. The University of Florida and the University of South Carolina also qualified out of the 60 entrants. The final results will be announced in May.

Also, the Loyola Advertising Team took second place in the regional of the National Student Advertising Competition of the American Advertising Federation in Knoxville, Tenn., last week with an ad campaign for Pizza Hut. Senior Allie Olivier was named Best Presenter of the region.

"We are thrilled," said Sonya F. Duhé, Ph.D., Loyola professor and director of the School of Mass Communication. "These achievements are a testament to the quality of the students and faculty here at Loyola and our commitment to excellence in the School of Mass Communication."
