2015 Lenten Series explores Jesuit saints as Lenten companions

Loyola press release - January 29, 2015

Loyola University New Orleans' Jesuit Center will present its 2015 Lenten Lecture Series, "Side by Side: Jesuit Saints as Lenten Companions," a series of lectures to be held in February and March to observe the season of Lent and to help inspire the Loyola community to share in the spirit of the season. All events are free and open to the public.

The Rev. Ted Dziak, S.J., vice president for the Office of Mission and Ministry and director of the Jesuit Center, said this year's series was inspired by the ever-present interest in Ignatius Loyola and Ignatian spirituality.

"As a Jesuit school, we hope to continue to share the charism of Ignatius and his early companions,” Dziak said. “By focusing on the three primary founders of the Jesuits, we want to show how their spiritual lives can be models of faith from whom we can learn. Lent is always a time of reflection and we hope these early Jesuit Saints can accompany our Loyola community through the Lenten season.”

This year, a special lecture on Ignatian spirituality and the law is being offered for the College of Law community as well.

Co-sponsored by the Alumni Association, all of the events are free and will take place at Loyola. Events include:
