Loyola press release - January 8, 2014
For the third year in a row, the Loyola University New Orleans nursing program is ranked among the top 10 in the nation by U.S. News & World Report’s 2014 Best Online Graduate Nursing Programs, according to the rankings released today. U.S. News also ranked Loyola’s online Bachelor of Science in Nursing among top online bachelor’s programs nationwide.
Overall, Loyola’s online graduate nursing program ranks sixth among the more than 100 nursing schools responding to the U.S. News data surveys. The online RN-to-BSN program at Loyola is ranked No. 32 out of more than 200 programs nationwide by the U.S. News 2014 Best Online Bachelor’s Programs.
“Loyola’s Jesuit values are so in sync with the values that make outstanding nursing leaders. Caring for others and acting justly are some of the Jesuit values the Loyola School of Nursing is built on. That’s also the way the best nurses approach patient care,” said Mary Oriol, R.N., DrPH, interim director of Loyola's School of Nursing.
This is also the first year U.S. News included input from peer institutions for the online program rankings.
“It is especially meaningful to have our peer nursing institutions echo their high recommendation for the Loyola School of Nursing in the 2014 U.S. News & World Report online program rankings," Oriol said.
The deadline to apply for the post-baccalaureate-to-DNP program is Feb. 1. The application deadline for the post-masters-to-DNP program is Feb. 15. The online Master of Science in Nursing, including the track in Health Care Systems Management, operates on a rolling deadline. Apply for all programs online.
