Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra's Carlos Miguel Prieto talks spirituality Jan. 7

The Loyola University New Orleans Institute for Ministry continues its “First Tuesdays: Spirituality in the City” series in the new year with Carlos Miguel Prieto, music director of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the Sinfónica Nacional de Mexico. Prieto, a widely traveled guest conductor and a recording artist, will present his “Conducting and Spirituality” talk at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception located at 130 Baronne St. in New Orleans.
The event is free and open to the public, and a simple lunch is provided at 12:15 p.m. The series is co-sponsored by the Jesuit Church of the Immaculate Conception, Loyola Institute for Ministry and The Catholic Book Store.
People of all faiths (or none at all) are invited to the public events held on first Tuesdays through May. Designed to promote rich dialogue on spirituality topics by hosting presenters with a wide range of religious backgrounds, the series is in its fifth year. More information is available online.
