Loyola launches year-end giving campaign to set record alumni donations
Loyola press release - July 22, 2013
Loyola University New Orleans needs 300 additional alumni donors to achieve its largest number of alumni supporters since 2005. From now through July 31—an important milestone marking the end of the academic year—the Office of Annual Giving is spearheading an all-out initiative by using social media, direct mail, e-communications and phone calls to encourage alumni to donate.
Stephanie Hotard, director of Loyola’s Annual Giving, is enthusiastic about the prospect of setting a new record for the number of alumni donations. “These gifts not only help our deserving students but assist in keeping Loyola among the top-ranked universities in the South. Our alumni volunteers are doing everything they can to generate excitement and help Loyola receive the most support it has seen in years.”
The time for renewing support for the university is now, according to Vice President of Institutional Advancement William Bishop. “Loyola is facing some recruiting and budgetary challenges right now. The people who know Loyola best—the graduates—continue to vote with their gifts and affirm that a Loyola education is a worthwhile investment. In challenging times, one’s friends and family step up. We are seeing this at Loyola,” Bishop said.
Gifts made by July 31 help support Loyola’s mission to make college a reality for students of diverse backgrounds, including the approximately one-third of Loyola students who are the first in their family to attend college.
