Alumni show the love and give back to Loyola
Loyola press release - August 3, 2012
The Office of Annual Giving thanks the many donors who helped the university reach its goal of 10 percent alumni giving participation this year.
In the past 12 months, the number of alumni donors has increased by 25 percent due to the hard work of Loyola faculty, staff and alumni who have encouraged their fellow grads to give back. Alumni across the country have made phone calls, sent emails, mailed letters and asked their friends and classmates to give back to Loyola.
“These gifts to Loyola University New Orleans make our university a better place. They support scholarships for deserving students, technology to enhance 21st century learning, co-curricular programs steeped in Jesuit ideals and countless other endeavors that bring Loyola to life,” said Stephanie Hotard, director of Annual Giving.
Hotard added that reaching the 10 percent participation goal also helps secure Loyola’s place among the nation’s best universities.
“Having a strong alumni donor base helps the university leverage financial support from corporations and foundations,” Hotard said. “All this support provides our faculty and students with the facilities and opportunities necessary to achieve academic excellence, and encourages our students to further their educational pursuits. Support like this enables Loyola to continue to provide an outstanding education that is global in scope, engaged with New Orleans and steeped in the Jesuit tradition that has guided Loyola for 100 years.”
