Commencement ceremonies to be webcast live

Loyola University New Orleans is pleased to announce that the spring 2012 commencement ceremonies will be webcast live, providing access to family and friends who are unable to attend.

On Saturday, May 12, the webcast will begin at 9:45 a.m. CDT for the undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremony and at 5:45 p.m. CDT for the College of Law commencement ceremony.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author and presidential historian Jon Meacham is the undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremony distinguished speaker. Meacham will receive an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters joining Loyola’s other honorary degree recipients:

  • Connie Jones, legendary cornet player who performed with the likes of Pete Fountain and the Dukes of Dixieland
  • Paul Pastorek ’76, J.D. ’79, former Louisiana superintendent of education and Loyola alumnus

Stephen Higginson, J.D., a newly-appointed judge for the U.S. Court of Appeals 5th Circuit and a former Loyola faculty member, will deliver the commencement address to College of Law graduates.
