Young Alumni Pack unveils '100 Days of Giving'

Loyola press release - April 16, 2012

The Loyola University New Orleans Young Alumni Pack, along with the Office of Annual Giving unveiled “100 Days of Giving,” a social media campaign designed to encourage overall giving participation among all alumni. The campaign, which runs from April 15 - July 25, also aims to increase the percentage of alumni giving participation as Loyola kicks off its centennial celebration.

"Giving back to the university allows future generations to have an incredible Loyola experience, as we all did. The centennial is an opportunity for the university to celebrate the past and future and build upon its great foundation,” said Young Alumni Pack President Michelle Clarke.

During each day of the “100 Days of Giving” campaign, Loyola will post a compelling reason for donating to the university through its social media outlets, such as Facebook and Twitter. A special link has been created so that all alumni can make a gift to the college, library or program of their choice. The Young Alumni Pack board is also working to recruit 100 new alumni donors to support the university by July 25th.

Alumni participation is regarded as a key indicator for measuring alumni satisfaction with their alma mater. It is, therefore, one of the critical factors used to determine national rankings such as U.S. News and World Report. While national rankings and international recognition increase the value of Loyola degree holders, private support from alumni also help keep tuition costs down.

At the other 26 Jesuit colleges and universities, alumni giving percentages average about 16 percent. With the help of each alumnus and alumna, Loyola’s alumni participation can help increase giving percentage from seven percent to 16 percent or better by July 31. Gifts, no matter the size, can help Loyola get there in this centennial year.
