Montage Series swings into November with free jazz concert

The Loyola Jazz Band, recently selected to play at the upcoming Jazz Education Network Conference in Atlanta, Ga., will offer a free performance Saturday, Nov. 3 at 3 p.m. in Louis J. Roussel Performance Hall, located in the Communications/Music Complex, on the corner of St. Charles Avenue and Calhoun Street.
Part of the Montage Fine and Performing Art Series at Loyola University New Orleans, the program will feature great composers and arrangers of the modern big band era. Highlights of the afternoon will include Bob Brookmeyer’s “Hello and Goodbye,” Cole Porter’s “I Love You,” as arranged by Coordinator of Jazz Studies John Mahoney, and “Back in Blue Orleans” by Less Hooper.
Free parking is available in the West Road Garage located on West Road and accessible from St. Charles Avenue.
