Loyola University New Orleans economics professor Dan D’Amico will be available Tuesday, Aug. 2 for interviews regarding the recent debt ceiling deal currently being considered in Congress and the impact it will have on Americans of every walk of life. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office, which is the official scorekeeper for all legislation, says the current proposal would reduce deficits by at least $2.1 trillion over 10 years. Daniel J. D'Amico earned his Ph.D. in economics from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia, where he received fellowships from The H.B. Earhart Foundation, The Ludwig von Mises Institute, The Mercatus Center and The Institute for Humane Studies.
He is a frequent contributor to “Freedom Watch” with Judge Napolitano on the Fox Business Network, and his dissertation, "The Imprisoner's Dilemma: The Political Economy of Proportionate Punishment," was awarded the Izrael M. Kirzner award for best dissertation on Austrian Economics.
