Loyola becomes a winter wonderland for Sneaux@Loyno event

Loyola press release - December 5, 2011

The Loyola University New Orleans campus will be transformed into a winter wonderland this week thanks to 20 tons of manufactured snow. The University Programming Board will present their annual Sneaux@Loyno event on Thursday, Dec. 8. from 6:30-8 p.m. on Loyola’s front lawn located on St. Charles Ave.

All Loyola faculty, staff, neighbors and students are welcome to participate in the memorable Sneaux@Loyno event, complete with hot chocolate, Christmas cookies and pictures with Santa. The Howling Wolves, Loyola’s a capella group, will also be caroling throughout the night.

“Sneaux is a unique Loyola tradition that UPB has been sponsoring for five years. It’s one of our most widely attended events that brings the entire community together in a snowy Christmas setting, which is unusual for New Orleans. It helps get everyone in the Christmas spirit,” said David Garcia, president of UPB.

Sneaux@Loyno is the last event of Winter Wonderland Week at Loyola. Other events for students include a visit to Christmas in the Oaks on Tuesday, Dec. 6 at 6 p.m. and gingerbread making in the Orleans Room located in the Danna Student Center on Wednesday, Dec. 7 starting at 5 p.m. The Celebration in the Oaks celebration costs $8 a person, with transportation provided by the UPB.
