Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, Louisiana State Board of Nursing visiting campus this week
Loyola press release - November 4, 2011
The Doctor of Nursing Practice degree program is hosting a site visit for the two credentialing organizations seeking to accredit the first doctoral program at the Loyola University New Orleans School of Nursing from November 9 - 11.
Four national site visitors from the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education and the Louisiana State Board of Nursing will meet with the University president, provost, VP for Finance and other administrators as well as the Dean of the College of Social Sciences and School of Nursing faculty and staff. In addition, they will meet with current program students, clinical agency preceptors and the DNP program national advisory committee for input about the program. The purpose of the onsite visit is to verify and amplify the documentation submitted in the CCNE/LSBN self study report by the School of Nursing in September 2011.
At the conclusion of the visit the accreditation team will report their findings. After the site visit, the accreditation teams will submit their report and any recommendations to their respective oversight organizations for further review and their decision. The final decision is expected in Spring 2012, prior to the first graduating class of DNP students in May 2012.
