Loyola offers Argentine tango workshop this summer

Ever wanted to learn to tango? This summer, the Loyola University New Orleans Department of Theatre Arts and Dance will offer a tango workshop instructed by Argentinean musician, singer and dancer Ernesto Rassi.
The week-long Argentine tango workshop is open to the public for a fee of $100 and runs June 28 – July 1. The workshop will culminate with a performance in Loyola’s Marquette Theater on Friday, July 2, at 7 p.m.
The course includes sessions on introduction to rhythms: tango, milonga and vals; embrace and connection; walk forwards and backwards; musicality; intro to basic tango step; forward eight; back eight; left turn; right turn; milonga box step; eight milonguero style; and embrace and endings.
