Theatre professor invited to participate in prestigious teacher's program

Loyola press release - January 12, 2009

C. Patrick Gendusa, visiting assistant professor of theatre arts and production manager in the Department of Theatre Arts and Dance, has been chosen to participate this summer in The Actors Center Teacher Development Program in New York City. The intensive two-week program will serve as an introduction to some of the most respected teachers in the United States and abroad. Gendusa was one of only 14 individuals chosen to participate from college faculties around the world.

While the workshop is offered as a seminar for the benefit of established teachers and established actors who are starting to teach, it is conducted essentially as an acting class. The goal of the program is to provide resources for theatre professionals to impart upon their students. Admission to the program is based on stated personal understanding of the actor's process, background and demonstrated interest in personal development. For more information about the program, visit http://theactorscenter.org/Programs.html.

This spring, Gendusa will also appear on stage with the Rivertown Repertory Theatre, playing the lead role of Harry Roat in Frederick Knott’s thriller, “Wait Until Dark.” The show will run March 6 – 22 at the theatre’s location in Kenner.

For more information, contact Gendusa at cpgendus@loyno.edu or call (504) 865-2835.
