Student groups host party to watch first McCain-Obama debate

The Loyola Society for Civic Engagement, the Office of Student Affairs, the Student Government Association and the University Programming Board are sponsoring a party Friday at the Danna Student Center on Loyola’s main campus to watch the first televised debate between presidential candidates Sen. John McCain and Sen. Barrack Obama.

The debate-watch party, which is being held in the St. Charles Room, will begin at 7 p.m.

A representative of each of the campaigns will present a five-minute statement on the merits of his respective candidate. The televised debate, which begins at 8 p.m., will be shown on a large screen in the St. Charles Room.

The event is free and open to all Loyola students, faculty and staff.
