Gov. Jindal appoints Loyola student to juvenile justice advisory board

Loyola press release - November 24, 2008

David Zoller, a Loyola University New Orleans political science major and senator in the Student Government Association, has been appointed to the Louisiana Governor’s Advisory Board of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention.

The purpose of the advisory board is to strengthen the accountability and rehabilitation of juveniles already found guilty of felonies in Louisiana and to prevent at-risk youth from committing crimes.

According to statute, the board must consist of 15 to 33 gubernatorial appointees, including one elected official and representatives of law enforcement, juvenile justice agencies, public and nonprofit agencies involved in juvenile delinquency treatment, volunteers who work with delinquents or potential delinquents, youth workers, and people with special knowledge concerning youth-related problems.

Zoller, who is on the College of Social Sciences honor roll, will serve as a youth worker.
