Loyola Institute for Ministry presents "Revelation: Its Meaning Then and Now"

The Loyola Institute for Ministry presents “Revelation: Its Meaning Then and Now,” a lecture and workshop on the last book of sacred scripture in the New Testament, presented by Fr. Jan Lambrecht, S.J. The free lecture takes place Friday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m., and the workshop takes place, Saturday, Nov. 15, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Both events will be held in the Danna Student Center’s Audubon Room, located on Loyola’s main campus, 6363 St. Charles Ave. The workshop is $25 per person and includes breakfast and lunch. Every fourth registration from a parish is free.

Friday night’s lecture will provide background about the Book of Revelation and address the relevance of the text to attendant’s lives in the 21st century. The workshop on Saturday will address Revelation in greater detail and its historical context.

Lambrecht is a visiting member of Loyola University’s Department of Religious Studies. He is the dean emeritus of the Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium, and has served on the Pontifical Biblical Commission. He holds a doctorate in Sacred Scripture from the Pontifical Biblical Institute in Rome.
