Parag Khanna headlines second fall President's Forum

Loyola University New Orleans is pleased to announce the second presentation in the fall President’s Forums series, “Election 2008: Bringing faith into the voting booth and examining America’s role in the new world order.”
On Oct. 29, Loyola welcomes Parag Khanna, director of the Global Governance Initiative and senior research fellow at the New America Foundation, to present “Empires and Influence in the New Global Order.” Khanna will autograph copies of his book of the same title following his presentation at 7 p.m., in Nunemaker Auditorium on Loyola’s main campus.
Khanna is a former advisor to United States Special Operation forces in Iraq and Afghanistan and global governance fellow at the Brookings Institution. He also worked at the Forum in Geneva and the Council on Foreign Relations in New York.
Khanna regularly appears on national and international broadcast networks and publishes his writings in a wide array of national newspapers and magazines. He hosts “InnerView” on MTV and was named one of Esquire magazine’s 75 Most Influential People of the 21st Century in 2008.
Loyola University’s President’s Forums on Current Issues and Controversies seek to explore and discuss some of the most compelling contemporary issues facing us today. Featuring internationally recognized scholars, the forum’s goal is to develop a dialogue with the larger community that helps us deepen our understanding and challenges us to move toward a more just and enlightened society.
