U.S. Air Force musicians to perform at Loyola's Montage Series

(New Orleans)—The Loyola University New
Orleans College of Music and Fine Arts is proud to present the Gateway Brass as
part of its Montage Guest Artist Series. Gateway Brass, from the United States
Air Force Band of the West, will present a concert featuring a total spectrum
of today’s musical literature on Tuesday, September 25, at 7:30 p.m. in Roussel
Performance Hall on Loyola's main campus. The performance is free of charge and
open to the public.
Gateway Brass represents the U.S. Air Force by performing music for formal military ceremonies, educational clinics, and public concerts. At each performance, they offer the audience a wide range of musical styles. The ensemble is comprised of two trumpets, French horn, trombone, tuba, and percussion. The members of Gateway Brass bring to the United States Air Force many years of professional experience with symphony orchestras, chamber ensembles, touring shows, and today’s popular artists. This group has been featured in performances at the New York Brass Conference and Boston University’s Tanglewood Music Center. Gateway Brass performs for civilian and military audiences throughout the southwestern region of the United States of America with a repertoire spanning five centuries. Gateway Brass travels more than 20,000 miles annually and appears in more than 100 concerts and clinics. The group performs at military ceremonies, conducts educational clinics, and presents entertaining community concerts throughout Texas, Louisiana, Arizona, and New Mexico.
The Loyola University New Orleans Montage Series is a fine and performing arts showcase that exhibits some of the top arts events in the region. The series is dedicated to providing educational and entertaining performances, which include outstanding concerts, guest performers, masterclasses, jazz, dance, and theatre productions in an intimate setting.
