Loyola president speaks at Friends of New Orleans benefit

The President of Loyola University New Orleans, the Rev. Kevin Wm. Wildes, S.J., was one of the featured speakers at a benefit dinner and discussion for Friends of New Orleans (FONO).

The discussion, ôNew Orleans: The Role of Higher Education, Local Business and Cutting-Edge Nonprofits in the Cityĺs Rebirth,ö took place August 10 in Aspen, Colorado. Fr. The panel was moderated by Walter Isaacson, president of the Aspen Institute, and also featured Dr. Norman Francis, Ph.D., president of Xavier University and chair of the Louisiana Recovery Authority; King Milling, president of Whitney National Bank and chair of Americaĺs Wetland Campaign; Arnie Fielkow, New Orleans City Council president and former executive vice president of the NFLĺs New Orleans Saints; Elizabeth Galante, director of Global Green New Orleans; Matt Petersen, president and CEO of Global Green U.S.A.; and Sally Perry, executive director of New Orleans Center for Creative Arts Institute; with special guests Anne Milling, founder of Women of the Storm, and Phyllis Taylor of Taylor Energy.
