Monroe Library hosts Fine Press and Artists' Books Exhibit
Loyola press release - July 16, 2007

The books displayed in the Fine Press and Artists' books exhibit are not books about art; they are art expressed through book form. The goal of many book artists is to involve the reader actively in the viewing process, not only to see the words on the page, but also to think about how the words, pictures, and physical form of the object all contribute to the meaning. The examples on display, drawn from Special Collections at the Monroe Library, include fine press printings from the early twentieth century to artists' books from the '90s.
For more information, please contact Trish Nugent, Special Collections Librarian, at panugent@loyno.edu or 864-7092.
