Preparatory ballet program placement audition and registration

New Orleans)—The Loyola University New Orleans Preparatory Ballet Program will be holding registration and placement auditions for the 2007-08 school year. The event will take place Saturday, August 18, 2007 from 10 a.m. until noon in room 106 of the Music/Communications building on Loyola’s campus. For more information, call (504) 865-2778.

The Preparatory Music Program serves as the preeminent preparatory music program in the metropolitan New Orleans area, offering a structured program of music studies in piano, ballet, voice, guitar, trumpet, and string instruments. The Ballet Division offers three levels of classes, from beginners to advanced. The ballet program is a frequent sponsor of auditions held by professional ballet companies and schools from outside the geographical area. It is also a rehearsal site for Komenka Ethnic Dance Ensemble, a local ethnic music and dance ensemble, which performs at Loyola. Komenka also participates in the Loyola Ballet performances and tours internationally.

Loyola University New Orleans is a Jesuit-Catholic institution with a total student enrollment of 4,724 including 800 law students.
