Maroon staff nominated by Press Club for prestigious awards competition

(New Orleans)—Numerous Loyola University New Orleans Maroon staff members have been nominated in the Press Club of New Orleans’ 49th annual Journalism Awards Competition. The competition will take place on Saturday, July 14, at the Astor Crowne Plaza Hotel.
Unlike other recent award competitions, in which the Maroon was competing with other student publications, the annual Journalism Awards Competition selects among professional publications, such as the Times-Picayune, City Business, Gambit, and New Orleans Magazine.
The nominees in each category have all been awarded either first, second, third place or honorable mention.
