Visual Arts professor exhibition at Santa Fe Art Institute

(New Orleans) Loyola University New Orleans Visual Arts Professor W. Mark Grote is exhibiting his work, produced during a two month residency at the Santa Fe Art Institute in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the Sante Fe Art Institute through June 23, 2007.

Grote's residency is sponsored by the Pollock-Krasner Foundation, Santa Fe Art Institute, and Loyola University of New Orleans. Grote has exhibited his work both nationally and internationally. He received a Fulbright to England in 1992 and has received numerous grants from the National Endowment of the Arts. His work is placed in many public and private collections, including the K & B Collections, Virlane Foundation, and Pan American Life Insurance Company in New Orleans, the Museum of Art in Alexandria, Louisiana, the Gallerie Christian Siret in Paris, France and the Gasworks Gallery and the Sculpture House Gallery, in London, England. He received the Pollock/Krasner grant and the Joan Mitchell Foundation Grant, and has completed additional residencies at the Bemis Center for Fine Art in Omaha, Nebraska in 2003, at the Gasworks artist Residency, in London, England, and at the Richard Attenborough Center, Leicester, England. Grote has lectured at several universities throughout the United States and England.
