University Police commissioned to work with NOPD

Superintendent of Police Chief Warren J. Riley has asked The Rev. Kevin Wildes, S.J., to see that University Police officers from Loyola University New Orleans work in a new partnership with The New Orleans Police Department (NOPD) to help provide a more visible presence in the neighborhoods surrounding campus. University Police officers will increase their foot, bicycle, and vehicle patrols during the late evening and early morning hours in the areas surrounding campus when they can. University Police officers will now hold dual police commissions with NOPD as well as their current police officer status with the Louisiana Department of Public Safety.
