PARTICIPATION

If you have not already done so, please advise the Office of Public Affairs of your intent to participate in commencement activities by Friday, May 4. Email James Shields at jshields@loyno.edu if you will participate in commencement activities.

BACCALAUREATE MASS

Participating faculty and staff, dressed in academic attire, should assemble on the sixth floor of the Recreational Sports Complex, Meeting Room #612, 30 minutes prior to the Mass in order to line up for the processional. Representatives from University Ministry will guide the procession.

COMMENCEMENT CEREMONIES

If you will be joining us for the College of Law Commencement Ceremony, please report to the New Orleans Arena, Harrah’s Courtside Club (LaSalle Street side of the Arena), no later than 6 p.m. on Friday evening. Here we will robe in academic attire and assemble in the proper order for the ceremonial procession.

If you are participating in the Undergraduate and Graduate Unified Ceremony, please report to the New Orleans Arena, Harrah’s Courtside Club (LaSalle Street side of the Arena), no later than 9 a.m. on Saturday morning. Here we will robe in academic attire and assemble in the proper order for the ceremonial procession.

The processional lines will begin moving into position approximately 15 minutes before the ceremonies. The order of proceedings for the ceremony will be listed in your program, which you will receive in the meeting area upon your arrival. The College of Law Commencement Ceremony should last approximately 90 minutes. The Unified Commencement Ceremony should last approximately two hours.

REGALIA

In keeping with academic tradition, faculty and staff are to be attired in the appropriate regalia for their field of study and highest degree earned.

The deadline to order rental regalia from the Bookstore was April 20.

PARKING

The Harrah’s Courtside Club is located on the East Ground Level, LaSalle Street side of the New Orleans Arena.

Parking will be available in the Louisiana Superdome Garage #2 (Southeast) and Garage #5 (Southwest). The entrances for both garages are via Girod Street. Handicapped parking is available in Lot #3 with entry into the arena via the South/Back Gate (LaSalle Street). Please note that Lot #3 is open only to those with handicapped parking plates or permits. The arena website, www.neworleansarena.com, has detailed maps.

The cost for parking is $7 per vehicle and is payable in cash only upon entry to the parking facilities.
