Loyola University New Orleans' Collins C. Diboll Gallery and the Department of Visual Arts will present a lecture by renowned artist Vito Acconci on Monday, April 23, at 6:30 p.m., in Miller Hall, Room 114. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Known for his flair for the unconventional, the New-York based artist and architect will discuss his recent work on architecture and landscape design. Acconci's work has always focused on his interest in the human body and its relationship to public space. In the 1980s, he started the "Acconci Studio," a project through which he works with a group of architects on designs for public spaces. Acconci has worked on designs for plazas, gardens and parks, building lobbies, and transportation, focusing on integrating private and public space. Notable projects include the Seoul Performing Arts Center, Atlanta Airport transfer Corridors, Austria's Mur Island, and the London New Street Square.
