Summer camps offered at Loyola

(New Orleans)–Loyola University New Orleans announces three summer camps filled with fun, entertainment, and education.
The Department of Visual Arts will sponsor the Loyola Children’s Summer Art Program 2007. The camp will be one, two-week session. The session runs from July 16– July 27. Tuition is $225 for the general public and $200 for children of Loyola faculty and staff, including a $50 non-refundable application fee. Refunds will not be given after June 1. The camp runs
9 a.m.–3 p.m. and is offered to children 7 to 14 years of age. Painting, drawing, ceramics, printmaking, sculpture, jewelry, and mixed media projects will be offered. Registration will be held on Saturday, April 14 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. in the visual art building, on the corner of Broadway and Dominican streets. Payment is due in full on the day of registration. No before or after care will be provided.

The College of Music will offer the Loyola Jazz Summer Camp. The camp will be one, two-week session. The session runs from June 4–8. Tuition is $200 for all participants. The camp runs from 9 a.m. –5 p.m. and is offered to children in grades 7–12. Students must be non-beginners. The camp will feature a closing concert on Saturday, June 9 at 2 p.m. Registration will be held on Sunday, June 3 at 2 p.m. in the Communications/Music Complex in room 240. A deposit of $50 is required

The Loyola Recreational and Sports Complex will offer a Summer Camp June 18–July 27. The camp is divided into three, two-week sessions and is open to children 5 years through 6th grade. The camp runs from 8:45 a.m.–3:15 p.m., Monday–Friday. Camp activities may include, but are not limited to: basketball, karate, recreational games, football, soccer, kickball, swimming, wiffleball, and arts & crafts. All children will receive basic swim instruction as well as daily free swim time. Session 1 runs June 18–June 29, Session 2 runs July 2–July 13 (closed on July 4), and Session 3 runs July 16–July 27. A $75 per session deposit must accompany the registration form. The deposit will be applied to the tuition for the camp session for which your child is registered. The cost for Loyola Community members is $225 per session for Sessions I and III, and $205 for Session II. For non-members, the cost is $260 per session for Sessions I and III and $235 for Session II. Tuition is due on the Monday prior to the start of the session. Before and after care and lunch are available for an additional fee.
